Found this joke on the NaNo forums:
An astronomer, a physicist and a mathematician are on a train to Scotland. They look out the window and see a single black sheep grazing in a field.
"Wow!" says the astronomer "All the sheep in Scotland are black!"
"No, no, no!" says the physicist "Some sheep in Scotland are black!"
The mathematician turns to them and says: "There exists at least one field in Scotland, which contains at least one sheep, at least one side of which is black."
---
In other news, I'M CLOSE TO FINISHING MY BOOK. So that's pretty crazy shit.
Uh...yeah.
What else is going on in my life? Oh! Yeah, my thrush spread to my throat, but I'm sure you didn't need to know that. Uhm...
Yeah, fun times.

This happened at the party this weekend. It was KIND OF REALLY EPIC.

Just a quick note before I'm off again to have a go at this English paper.
I am very ill-suited to this class. We talk about malls and the "Weight Debate" and store mannequins with shapely butts. I don't care about any of that.
I care about science.
I care about psychology.
I care about good books with good characters.
I care about knowledge.
I care about anatomy and biology.
I care about how lollipops are made.
I care about exploding frogs.
I care about chemistry.
I care about grown-up books that are written like children's books.
I care about knitting theory.
I care about unusual weather phenomena.
But I don't give a damn about shopping malls and whether or not this professor thinks they're sacred.
The end! :)

So, there's a thread on the NaNo forums suggesting we run our titles through a slogan generator for the lulz. I figure you guys will gain more enjoyment from it than random people on the forums, so here are my slogans:
The Counting Cars Effect.
Maybe She's Born With It, Maybe It's Counting Cars.
Be Like Dad, Keep Counting Cars.
Counting Cars Is Our Middle Name.
Please Don't Squeeze The Counting Cars.
Why Can't Everything Orange Be Counting Cars?
Counting Cars Stays Sharp 'til The Bottom Of The Glass.
You'll Never Put A Better Bit Of Counting Cars On Your Knife.
And last, but certainly not least:
Only Counting Cars Can Prevent Forest Fires.
I so want to illustrate these.
Remember, my book prevents forest fires.

I can't tell if he's dancing or air-humping. Y'all can interpret it however you want. It has a broad meaning.
This took me most of Glee to animate, btw.

YESTERDAY WAS PRETTY COOL.
-Wrote during literally every class. An awkward/sexy gay make-out-scene is very difficult to write when everybody else in the classroom sits behind you and you have a fancy laptop that people like to look at. In TA period, David spent most of the class looking over my shoulder.
-Sao wore (p)leather pants. I cannot express enough approval.
-Drag show! Awesome. Really hardcore queen didn't wear much up top. Miss Gay Indiana got very friendly with a policeman. Oliver (not the octopus) was great. He can really dance.
-WE WENT TO ALTERED IMAGE AND I GOT MY EAR PIERCED. It was crazy. Sao says he pierced it with a 16 gauge. I look awesome. I was so wired and jittery after.
-Denny's. 19 people at the table, including a few drag queens.
-Rei-chan named her Nidoran "Fukoff" and then she kicked Brock's Onix's ass with her Butterfree.
-Sao taught me about piercing care and we woke up the next morning to "I Believe In A Thing Called Love".
-Sao's mom made oatmeal with apple and it was so tasty oh my god.
:D And that's that.

Things that happened today:
-We walked around Savannah for a while, saw some boats, took some pictures.
-I worked on my novel.
-Portfolio consultation. Apparently, for SCAD, portfolios aren't part of the application. Instead, there is a portfolio scholarship, which is where the portfolios are actually important.
-Talked to a nice lady about admissions and life at SCAD in general. It's looking incredibly promising. I'm super excited. I really want to apply here.
-Animation workshop. A man talked about traditional animation, and then another very funny man talked about computer animation.
-I made a friend. She was at the animation workshop too, and I thought she was sort of cool. Then, on the bus back, I asked if I could sit with her and she said, "Of course! I'd been meaning to talk to you. You seem cool and we should be friends." It was pretty awesome.
-Dinner at a nice Japanese restaurant called Wasabi's. I ate so much edamame oh gods.
(spellcheck of the day: Wasabi's = Washable's)
NaNoWriMo progress: they're in Iowa, and I'm at 7960 words! I have four tabs of road trip info open: the Wikipedia article on Clear Lake, a highway/county map of Iowa, a highway map of Minnesota, and MapQuest. I love the internet.
And now, back to writing.

Our hotel is the fanciest. Complementary WiFi, and a little cup of Ben & Jerry's!
Notable occurrences from the airports and plane rides:
-The first plane ride, I was seated in front of a screaming toddler and the engine was literally less than a foot from my head. Luckily, I'm in a good mood today.
-Calling Sao to wish her Happy Birthday.
-Guy on the plane in front of us telling exciting detective stories.
-Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream (YUM.)
-Cute albino kid (or just ridiculously towheaded) dancing on a tabletop.
-Finishing Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close on the plane and crying. So amazing.
-Fancy rental car.
-Incredibly nice hotel. Most of the carpets are green. I get my own queen bed.

Went over to Sao's for pre-birthday pie and to deliver her birthday present. (half a pair of black lace armwarmers and a disgustingly sappy poem) We ended up watching The X-Files while I climbed all over her on the couch, attempting to get comfortable. I'm bad at getting into comfortable positions, especially today. It was fun though. And she didn't complain.
The pie was so delicious ohmygod.
Tomorrow, I'm heading off to Savannah with mom to check out SCAD. I'm pretty excited. The only states I've been to (outside of airports--I've been to a lot of airports) are Indiana, California, and (technically) Kentucky. So Georgia will be new.
My novel's going pretty well. I didn't write much today, but hopefully I'll be able to get a lot of writing done on the plane to Georgia. And in the hotel room. And the airport. Basically, tomorrow is Write Some Fucking Novel Day. Plus, I get to miss an hour of Rock History. Superscore.
Doubleplus: my retainer-thrush is almost gone! SOON I WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE OUT WITH A CLEAN CONSCIENCE. And also stop gargling anti-fungal. That would be nice.
Now I'm just rambling. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed.
Night, lovelies!

Dad showed me The Twonky. Good movie. Really funny.
Anyway, some book. In this chapter, they're at a hotel in a teeny tiny town in rural Minnesota.
( Little bit from chapter three. )
(notes!! The blue hair has nothing to do with Applechikkin--Matt just likes to dye his hair funny colors. Also, he shares my views on poetry.)

Relevant happenings over Halloween weekend (and the two days I had off of school before Halloween weekend):
-DAN. FUCKING. SAVAGE. AT IU. He was brilliant. Got a signed book. Sao got him to sign her sketchbook. She opened it to a LiCl page, and he went "Aww," and drew a big heart around them with an arrow through it, then signed the page. I thought my brain was going to explode from the glee.
-Sao looks like Silent Hill Queen of Hearts in her costume. She has on a leather face mask. Life is wonderufl.
-Dyed Rei-chan's hair pink and purple with tinfoil and Manic Panic in the bathroom. Had a lovely chat. It looked so fucking awesome. I couldn't stop staring.
-Dressed up Oliver the Tentacle Boy like Alice, since Gray was sick. He looks utterly darling and is still wearing his costume. People will think he's a girl, but that's okay.
-Halloween night. Playoffs. "The man, he play the banjo; the woman, she make the tap dance." Two people dressed as the guys from pulp fiction. I payed for half the people with us to get in.
-Rocky Horror. Super glad Rian managed to enjoy herself despite having had to walk several blocks in heels and being in lots of pain. James was covered in duct tape and mutilated baby dolls. I was adorable and wearing a tiny hat. Lindsay was emcee-ing again. Life is good.
-Sunday. Chilled. Played Earthbound with Sao. Drove Rei-chan back to the dorm and we had the best conversation ever, which led to a last-minute change to what I was going to write for NaNoWriMo (thankfully!!). Spent the rest of the day writing and watching Sao play Earthbound. So in love.
-Might post novel excerpt later. Patience, lovelies.
